概要

After the last king of the Sinhalese, King Sri Wickrama Rajasingha, fell into the hands of the British in 1815, the whole of Sri Lanka began to be ruled under the British government. In 1906, Sri Wickrama Noortiya was created by lawyer John de Silva Champion based on this incident. The play was compiled into a book by the Towerhall Theater Foundation for the Tower Centenary. This has been created based on the Noorthi script and the songs and dialogues contained in it have been included.

In the first few minutes, the dances and songs performed in Sri Vikrama Raja Madura are reflected. It also includes the popular Noorthi song Vasana Dineki. The king is happy to hear these songs and vows to protect the Sinhalese Dweepa. Having succeeded in his first plan of making Prince Kannasamy king, the High Court of Pirmatathalava plans to kill his enemies. At the same time, he went to meet the English Governor North to depose King Sri Vikrama Rajasingha and obtain Sinhala kingship.
