Strong Parents, Strong Kids – Week 2: “Let Reality Teach”

Parents should show love and empathy while maintaining firm boundaries and consequences. Kids need to learn that choices have natural results—the law of sowing and reaping. Pain and frustration can help build character when handled with grace and truth.

The goal isn’t to control children, but to let reality teach them, allowing them to experience appropriate consequences without withdrawing love. Healthy parenting means helping kids accept what they cannot control, develop responsibility, and practice gratitude even when life isn’t fair or perfect.

This sermon challenges parents to look inward first—because if we want to help shape our children, we must be willing to grow ourselves. The vision God casts is not beige uniformity but the breathtaking diversity of Revelation 7, where people from every tribe, tongue, and nation stand together before the throne, unified in worship.

We are invited to be a living preview of that moment right now, in our communities, in our relationships, and in the way we honor one another across every cultural and ethnic line.
