  • Week 1 College Football Season Matchups R Uncompetitively Dumb
    2026/09/08

Browse through the scores of most college football games during Week 1 and...well, you'd see a lot of blowouts. Joey attended a Texas A&M game as a reporter, and the final score was 50-0. Sean's Texas Longhorns won by 52 points. Other big schools beat up on low-end FBS or FCS universities in games that were pretty much decided before halftime.

Of course, we did have a few marquee matchups, including the Ole Miss/Louisville thriller, and some entertaining games between schools that will probably be good (Oregon and Boise State) and schools that will probably only be so-so (Auburn and Baylor). Either way, we're happy college football and all the dumb elements of it are back.

And don't you worry, we're also talking about the wild ending of that Michigan/Western Michigan game, afternoon start times for southern schools, and some unique latte flavors.

  • College Football is Here and an 18-Wheeler Hits Sean's Car
    2026/09/01

These two events are not related, but they're the big moments of the past few days. Sean relives a rough moment at work when his parked car got sliced by an 18-wheeler truck.

Meanwhile, the college football season has kicked off. And for some reason, we keep playing games in wet and rainy Ireland. Sean gives us his best Irish accent to celebrate.

  • We're Back with Lots of Good Times Among the Dumb!
    2026/08/26

We're back! We've taken most of August off because it's too hot to record...er, because of some major life events! Joey became an uncle to a wonderful niece and also took a trip to Alaska; both are delightful. Sean scored four goals in a hockey game and then his check engine light came on during the ride home, a great sign that you can never ride too high on your horses.

Plenty of dumb stuff is going on in sports, too! The Cleveland Browns named Deshaun Watson their starter despite him being not a good human being and an even worse quarterback. The Los Angeles Lakers and other NBA franchises seem to just be toys for some billionaire owners to hold onto for a year before flipping it like it a renovated house. LSU and Lane Kiffin tried to sign a tight end who was a professional NFL player a week ago. Plus, a fun thought exercise to do a Bill Belichick impersonation with an Irish accent.

And we lost a legend in Dolly Parton, an absolute icon. That's not really related to sports, but she transcended all of these games. May her kindness and generosity towards others continue to live on in all of us.

  • Owners Not Caring About Fielding Competitive Teams R Unambiguously Dumb
    2026/08/04

We saw a blockbuster trade in Major League Baseball over the weekend, with two-time Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal going to the Los Angeles Dodgers. This team now has approximately 900 very good to elite players on its team, and people are mad about it. But it's hard to get mad at the Dodgers for trying to make their teams better, when it seems like many other owners around the league do not care as much.

Plus, we chat about Sean's visit to Houston to watch the Rangers take on the Astros at Daikin Park, the disappointment of teams making you purchase more expensive tickets for certain giveaways, and the vibes of blowing out an opponent with ease.

  • Lengthy LeBron James Decision Sagas R Interminably Dumb
    2026/07/28

LeBron James has made his "last decision," and he's heading to the Philadelphia 76ers. That's a mighty exciting team on paper, don't you think? Good things games are not played on looseleaf.

Plus, we reflect on Sean's jam-packed hockey weekend—including a game that started shortly after midnight—and reminisce on the time Joey was featured on local TV celebrating a corn hole victory during a tailgate.

  • Argentina Not Having a Single Shot on Goal in a 120-Minute Match is Offensively Challenged Dumb
    2026/07/21

The 2026 World Cup is in the books! Spain defeated Argentina in a thrilling 1-0 snoozefest that included zero shots on goal from Argentina despite over two hours of game time. At least the halftime show sure was something.

Elsewhere in the sports world, Caitlin Clark dropped 45 points and her team still nearly lost, and the MLB had its Home Run Derby and All-Star Game and...well, these events seemed a lot more fun as kids (and also had way less betting and gambling shout outs). Plus, Joey gets the best karaoke compliment he's ever received.

  • Dives During the World Cup R Endlessly Replayed Dumb
    2026/07/14

In Switzerland's World Cup match against Argentina, Breel Embolo appeared to get aggressively tackled. Upon replay review, he actually just threw himself into the air and then flailed on the ground. He was rightfully given a second yellow card and removed from the game. Chaos ensued. Don't worry, Harry Kane took a wild dive, too.

Plus, moments you may have missed in Space Jam, Sean merch we should totally make, the time Joey got locked out of his apartment while staying in Argentina, and a handy way to remember which state is Vermont and which one is New Hampshire.

  • Political Battles During the World Cup R Egotistically Dumb
    2026/07/07

We're right in the thick of the World Cup, and there have been many magical moments and exciting matches. Of course, there have also been some corrupt actions and political posturing that has not helped one bit.

Plus, there have been some major moves making waves across the NBA. And yet, 16 years later, we're still somehow waiting on LeBron James to make a decision.
