  • A Dumb Start to the Football Season
    2025/09/16

We're back in action! Joey's been overseas, but Sean has been in the thick of both college and NFL football. And it has been full of chaos, as you'd probably expect.

Plus, Joey recaps his trip to Scotland and Copenhagen, Sean cannot remember a playful word, and we learn how to "split the G" with a pint of Guinness.

  • Let's Make Some Dumb NFL Predictions!
    2025/08/26

The NFL season is nearly upon us, so we're making some dumb predictions. Learn what ridiculous record Sean thinks the Cowboys will wind up with, hear what mental mistake Joey predicts will happen multiple times before Week 3 kicks off, and so much more.

Due to some upcoming vacation after this episode, Sports R Dumb is taking a break. We'll be back in action on September 16. In the meantime, perhaps you can give us a follow on Instagram or a kind review on Spotify or Apple Podcasts. You rock!

  • Sports R Dumb Travels to Denver!
    2025/08/19

The Sports R Dumb boys took a weekend trip to Denver and fit in quite a few sports-related activities. We're covering the Rockies starting a win streak thanks to our presence, a preseason Broncos game, visiting Ball Arena (home of the Nuggets and Avalanche), and getting our gaming action on at an arcade, complete with skeeball and pop-a-shot. We're also welcoming back an old segment with a classic sports cliche. What a robust time!

  • Early NFL Preseason Action is "R U READY FOR SOME FOOTBALLLLL" Dumb
    2025/08/12

The NFL is BACK, baby! And neither one of us are ready for it. Sean, being the football sicko that he is, has made a classic "Top 5" list of what he's not looking forward to this NFL season, from gambling ads everywhere to instant replay reviews for the dumbest things.

Plus, we're exploring the reboot of King of the Hill, a classic arcade game with heavy product placement, and whether Tom Brady's career would have turned out the way it did if not for the Tuck Rule.

  • Sean Goes Film Critic: A Not So Dumb Review of "Quarterback" and "Receiver"
    2025/08/05

Sean isn't ready for football season quite yet, but he's not letting that stop him from watching the Netflix documentary series Quarterback and Receiver.

See who he'd most like to hang out with between Joe Burrow, Kirk Cousins, and Jared Goff. Which of the receivers would he be most frightened to encounter? Who has the most supportive family? Which receiver has a Taco Bell in his home? There's lots to unpack here, and we're making it happen!

As always, reach out to the show via Instagram or leave a kind message on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Podchaser, or Goodpods. Thanks for listening!

  • Overskilled Players Playing In Lower Leagues R Egotistically Dumb
    2025/07/29

Sean plays in a hockey league with multiple divisions based on talent level, yet he had to encounter one team who signed up for a league far below their skill level. Is there really any enjoyment out of demolishing someone THAT badly in a sporting event?

Plus, we're sharing some of our favorite school projects from high school, discussing the tire on fire flight debacle, and Sean wonders what if Nelson Cruz had caught that fly ball during Game 6 of the 2011 World Series.

  • A Not Dumb Trip to Sports City USA
    2025/07/22

Joey is thriving, but Sean is barely hanging on thanks to a bug that has conquered him. Nevertheless, we're powering through.

Joey recaps his visit to Frisco, Texas, known as Sports City USA—and wouldn't you know it, it has a bunch of fun video game stuff, too! We're waxing nostalgic about The Oregon Trail and Pokemon Stadium.

Plus, the introduction of a new Sean segment! What a time. And here's that Adrian Beltre and the Texas Rangers dressed as cowboys: https://www.mlb.com/cut4/this-photo-of-adrian-beltre-dressed-as-a-texan-belongs-in-an-art-museum-c2497061

  • A Lack of Cool Batting Stances is Lamely Dumb
    2025/07/15

When Sean and Joey were kids, there seemed to be no shortage of funky batting stances. Tony Batista. Jeff Bagwell. Craig Counsell. Chuck Knoblauch. Kevin Youkilis. Those seem to largely be a relic of the past. Are we just getting older? Do we simply not care as much? Am I so out of touch? Probably yes to all three. Shout out to Sports R Dumb listener Chris for the topic suggestion!

Sean also tries to accurately predict World Series participants from the past decade or so, with only modest success. Sounds about right.
