Students, lets recognize the Art Of Penmanship starting January 23rd through 31st in celebration of National Handwriting Day.

    So, in support of your mental, social, emotional health and well beings, Ms. Tonya the head instructor wants you to

    1. Send a hand written "Thank-you" letter to a teacher, family member or a friend.
    2. Start handwriting a new journal and reflect on thoughts, dreams and daily experiences.
    3. Practice handwriting your own unique signature by signing an autograph book in cursive.
    4. Write in print by tracing letters inside a workbook to improve your penmanship.
    5. Try handwriting a poem, short story or a shopping list.
    6. Post a photo of all your creative handwriting on social media.


    Students, the head instructor is encouraging you to use your pens and pencils rather than relying on digital devices. Lets start handwriting on paper when Note-taking your reading assignments and while listening to teacher's lectures.     Here are several Self-Regulation Strategies to help manage your emotional thoughts and behaviors to suceesfully achieve your daily goals.

    1. Identify and Label your emotions of handling frustration, disappointment, or embarrassment without reacting impulsively.
    2. Delay reactions by calming yourself down before responding to help control your behavior after an exciting or upsetting event and staying focused on a task.
    3. Practice calming techniques by taking deep breaths, count to ten, or take a walk to manage an intense emotion.
    4. Adjust your expectations of being flexible and adapting to changing circumstances by practicing being aware of your thoughts and behaviors that may lead to breaking your own standards.
    5. Develop plan using behavioral strategies to identify your emotions and learning to let painful feelings go.
    6. When problem solving use deep breathing or counting to 10 strategies to regain control before reacting.

Students, maintaining a good attendance record in school and in college is important for academic success, landing a decent paying job and living your best life. This is why you should avoid missing classes and skipping school because you will fall behind in your course work, group projects, class work assignments and final exams. Students, so in support for your mental, emotional, social and physical well beings, I am calling for all partners like you teachers, educators, professors, parents, instructors, and schools administrators and dean to create a supportive & engaging learning environments by providing interactive teaching, relevant content, and personalized learning experiences.


    Partners, here are some key strategies to improve students attendance for 2025-26 school year.

    1. Start by building strong relationships like partnering with community resources to address barriers of transportation and mental health.
    2. Creating a welcoming and engaging school culture like implementing data-driven monitoring ; early intervention for chronic absenteeism, offering incentive for good attendance and providing target support for personal challenges.
    3. Communicate effectively with families & students like send-back-to-school letters to provide information on attendance policies and collaborate with parents to maintain daily routines & address potential obstacles.
