Destin Daniel Cretton's Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up years after the spell that made everyone forget Peter Parker — and Tom Holland spends most of it alone, until he meets someone even more powerful than him who's just discovering what she can do. Robbie digs into that mentee-to-mentor flip, Jon Bernthal's gruffer, more R-coded take on the Punisher, Sadie Sink's escalating Jean Grey, and why Mark Ruffalo's Savage Hulk feels like a lot of convenient continuity.
Amy saw this one also and her take was: ⭐⭐⭐½, a good continuation of the story. Robbie lands in the same place — three and a half stars with a heart. A genuinely fun popcorn movie that's probably going to out-earn everything else this year, even if it stops short of great.
