A piece of litter jettisoned from a passing ship centuries ago, one dented aluminum cylinder tumbling silently through the void, was enough to trigger a cascade of catastrophic misunderstandings between four paranoid warlord clans, one very confused AI defense network, and a gravitiy bomb system nobody was supposed to actually use.

It was over in less than ten minutes.

Milo filed the incident report on Wednesday.

The universe, it turns out, cannot legally terminate itself without proper documentation... forms, signatures, divine wrath checkboxes, soul-recycling attachments, and the notary stamp of one very tired clerk from the Department of Administrative Affairs.

The last building standing still hums along as if nothing happened. Typewriters type. Printers print. Coffee machines gurgle their burnt offerings.

And Milo has paperwork to finish.

A lot of paperwork.

Somewhere in the stack is a form that either shuts reality down permanently or reboots it entirely.

Process the forms. Don't spill the coffee. Try not to think too hard about what happens when you hit submit.
