You've seen her in Dune, Twin Peaks, The Sopranos, and Longlegs. But before Hollywood, she was a child prodigy from Worcester, Massachusetts. She was reading Shakespeare as a toddler, playing piano like she'd done it in another life (her words, and she means it literally). At seven, a wildly unlikely chain of events led her to meeting the filmmaker David Lynch, and a role in Dune became a friendship and spiritual mentorship that shaped the rest of her life.

In this conversation, Alicia takes us deep into the territory her new album, Between Heaven and Earth, was born from: transcendental meditation, past-life memories, dream visitations, ayahuasca ceremonies, the surprisingly spiritual experience of The Masked Singer — and the moment an avocado convinced her God was real.
