Ask someone who they are and they'll tell you what they do.
In this episode of The Goal Is Soul, we look at the roles we carry and at what's underneath them. You get handed a role early. Then you choose a few more. Somewhere along the way the role stops being something you do and becomes who you think you are. That's when it gets heavy, because a role has to be held up, and you're the one holding it. IFS calls what's underneath Self. Ram Dass called it soul. Chassidus calls it the chelek Elokah mima'al, a chip off the divine block. Every tradition names it differently and says the same thing: it was never assigned to you, so it can't be taken away. It's the one in you that watches the roles come and go and stays steady through all of it.
