But Greenland has never been “just ice.”
For thousands of years, the far north has been remembered as Hyperborea — the land beyond the north wind. A place of eternal light, ancient knowledge, and a people the Greeks said lived closer to the gods than to ordinary men. Some maps put the Hyperborean sea between Iceland and Greenland. Some researchers point to an old “Hyperborean platform” under the Arctic. Thule sits on Greenland’s coast. The myths never went away. The geopolitics just caught up.
