I thought I was alone on a snow-covered mountain road. Then a stranger appeared who somehow knew my name, my family, and exactly where I was going.

In the winter of 1990, Ellen Pruitt sets out on a journey to a remote mountain town to settle matters involving her late grandfather's house.

But as darkness falls and snow begins covering the winding mountain highway, strange things start happening.

Her car begins losing power. A pale sedan keeps appearing along the road. And a seemingly helpful stranger offers directions that don't quite make sense.

With the storm growing worse and miles of isolated forest surrounding her, Ellen begins to suspect that someone has been expecting her arrival.

But why?

And what would have happened if she had trusted him?

A chilling, realistic suspense story filled with mysterious encounters, dangerous mountain roads, unsettling warnings, and the terrifying realization that not everyone who offers help has good intentions.
