    2026/10/16

In this first Episode I give a breakdown of current statistics, behavioral indicators, and the specific mechanics of coercive control to help you understand how to navigate these complex issues.

It takes significant courage to ask these questions. Understanding the dynamics of power and control is the first step toward safety and healthier connections.

I recommend checking out the links below and a really great book recommendation. I hope this information is helpful.

  • WICKER Why Women Want Him - MOVIE IN THEATHERS TODAY!
    2026/10/23

This much anticipated movie comes out in theaters on October 23rd, you bet I'll be there to see it and find out exactly what has everyone so excited. And you know I'll tell you ALL about it!

If you haven't heard about this movie yet, you need to check out the US or UK Trailers. People are having some pretty strong feelings and reactions, and the movie hasn't even been released yet!

I'm getting into the sex appeal of devotion—emotional safety, vulnerability, loyalty, masculinity, and that dangerously attractive thing called actually showing up.

Because apparently, watching a man—even a man made of Wicker - Completely adore his wife is enough to have women and men questioning their standards, their relationships, and possibly even their sanity.

So maybe the fantasy isn’t just the Wicker husband's physique. Could it be the real fantasy for women is a man who makes her feel wanted, safe, chosen, and adored?

And yes…I watched the cast interviews for research.

    Strictly professional. Obviously!

  • Inside the Lethality Assessment Program
    2026/10/24

In this episode we explore how the Lethality Assessment Program identifies danger in intimate partner violence—recognizing patterns, spotting high‑risk situations, and connecting people to immediate, life‑saving help.

    National LAP lethality assessment

The Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) is a national initiative aimed at preventing domestic violence homicides and serious injuries. It provides a standardized, evidence-based lethality assessment instrument and accompanying referral protocol that helps first responders identify victims of domestic violence who are at the highest risk of being seriously injured or killed by their intimate partners. The LAP connects these victims with critical safety tools and services, ensuring they receive immediate support and safety planning. The program has been validated as a "supported intervention" by the Centers for Disease Control’s Continuum of Evidence Effectiveness and is recognized as a "promising practice" by the U.S. Department of Justice.

  • The Way Out Is Built: My personal DV Survival & Escape Story
    2026/10/27

We move beyond theory and into reality—exploring what actually happens when someone reaches out for help in a high-risk domestic violence situation.

Following our previous discussion on the Lethality Assessment Program (LAP), this episode breaks down the coordinated response system that often unfolds behind the scenes. From the immediate role of law enforcement, to the critical work of domestic violence advocates, to the life-saving support provided by emergency shelters—this is a look at how safety is built in real time.

Through a powerful personal story, I share what it looked like to leave with my children—not in chaos, but through careful planning, trusted support, and coordinated action. What may appear on the surface as a sudden escape is often the result of quiet, strategic alignment between multiple systems working together.

    This episode highlights:

The three key entry points to support: law enforcement, advocates, and shelters

How risk is assessed and translated into actionable safety plans

What emergency shelter placement really looks like

The difference between surviving in crisis and leaving with structure

Why the safest exits often happen before the situation reaches its peak

We also talk about the reality many don’t see—the hidden layers of survival, the people who step in, and the systems that must align at the right moment.

If you’re wondering where to begin, you’re not alone. Resources are available, and support exists.

  • The Woman I Became When I Stopped Asking for Permission
    2026/10/29

How much of your life has been shaped by seeking approval instead of trusting yourself?

In this episode of Solo & Sovereign, Marie explores the powerful transformation that happens when women stop asking for permission to speak up, set boundaries, and pursue the life they truly want for themselves.

She talks about how people-pleasing, guilt, and the need for validation can keep us disconnected from ourselves—and how reclaiming our voice, our worth, and our sovereignty allows us to live with confidence and authenticity.

If you've ever felt like you've been living for everyone else's expectations, this conversation is your reminder that you already have everything you need to choose yourself.
