Can I vent to you about Meta for like 10 minutes? Because I'm mad, and I promise this affects your esthetics business more than you think.
Meta (the company behind Instagram and Facebook) is now offering subscriptions from $3.99 all the way up to $499 a month. You can pay for scheduled stories, priority story views, six pinned posts, custom fonts, and the one that really ticks me off: optimized search. Basically, more visibility if you pay up. Social media is officially starting to feel like The Hunger Games, and it's a no for me, dawg.
In this episode I'm breaking down:
- What these new Meta subscriptions actually include, and where to find them on your Instagram
- Why you do NOT need to pay Meta to grow your clientele
- Why I'm still not telling you to quit social media
- The bare-minimum posting rhythm that keeps your profile looking active
- The other marketing channels I want you leaning into instead: email, referrals, getting involved in your community in person, and SEO
- How I'm practicing what I preach and shifting my own focus off social media
If you have a love-hate relationship with social media, this one's for you. Let's get off the hamster wheel and do it differently.
