Overcoming social anxiety, fear of failure, and a career-ending mistake: Army veteran, entrepreneur, and Ironman triathlete Brian Connors shares how he rebuilt his confidence and turned his lowest moment into two thriving businesses.

On this episode of Inspiring Possibilities, I sit down with Brian Connors, a military veteran, business founder, and Ironman triathlete with plenty of experience stepping into new territory. Brian joined the Army as an officer and occupational therapist, dreaming of helping amputees recover. When a DUI ended his military career and his doctoral program, he had to start over. He opens up about living with severe social phobia, fighting imposter syndrome, and why he took up Ironman triathlon to prove to himself what he was capable of.

Brian went on to start Testudo Logistics, which provides healthcare staffing for military and government programs, and eSym, which delivers motivational interviewing training to help people support positive change. Outside of work, his love of triathlon and travel keeps him exploring new places and pursuing new challenges. His perspective is shaped by service, entrepreneurship, and the persistence it takes to keep moving forward. It's proof that courage isn't the absence of fear. It's having a "why" that's bigger than it.

In this episode, you'll learn:
✅ How to keep going when fear of failure hits hard
✅ What Brian learned about leadership and imposter syndrome as a new Army officer
✅ How he coped with social anxiety while teaching and public speaking
✅ Why Ironman training rebuilt his self-confidence
✅ How a military veteran started a business winning government contracts
✅ What motivational interviewing is (and why it's NOT motivational speaking)
✅ The advice he'd give his 12-year-old self: perseverance and play
