  • Deadlines BS: The Truth About Launch Dates, Burnout, and Rushed Work
    2025/09/15

Entrepreneurs are drowning in deadlines - launch by Friday, post daily, drop everything for “urgent” client requests.

But how many of those deadlines are real, and how many are fake urgency that only creates stress, mistakes, and burnout?

    In this episode I unpack:

    • Why arbitrary, ego-driven deadlines backfire.

    • Real-world flops from rushing launches and forcing targets.

    • The science: Parkinson’s Law, Yerkes–Dodson, Hofstadter’s Law.

    • How to set deadlines that serve your business (and sanity).

    • Chapters and Timelines

      • 00:00 — Intro: Are your deadlines real or just fake urgency?

      • 02:27: Self-imposed pressure: daily posting & launch myths

      • 04:40: When clients say “urgent”: drop-everything demands that vanish

      • 06:42: The cost of rushing: stress, mistakes, lower quality, burnout

      • 09:34: Real-world examples: rushed launches & target pressure gone wrong

      • 12:11: The science: Parkinson’s Law, Yerkes–Dodson, Hofstadter’s Law

      • 14:53: The flip side: when deadlines do help (urgency & accountability)

      • 17:35: Setting deadlines properly: soft vs hard, data not ego

      • 20:02: The N0BS Deadline Rules: five rules that keep you sane

      • 22:33: Checklist & signals: when a deadline is worth the push

  • S2 E4: Personal Interlude: Feeling Used and Abused
    2025/09/08

Ever had someone slide into your DMs with:

    “Can I pick your brain?”

“Let’s grab a coffee so I can run this idea by you?”

Or my personal favourite: “Hey, can you get me on a TEDx stage?”

It sounds harmless… maybe even flattering. But if you’re an entrepreneur, you know how quickly these “little asks” add up. Suddenly, generosity turns into exploitation.

In this episode, I open up about what it’s really like to feel used and abused in business. From people ghosting after free dinners, to “networking coffees” that turned into hidden TEDx agendas, to endless requests for free advice - I’ve felt it all.

This isn’t just my problem, though. It’s a bigger cultural issue: visibility online makes people think they’re entitled to your time, your contacts, your expertise - for free.

I’ll share how I’ve been dealing with it, what the psychology says about reciprocity and burnout, and the simple system I’m using now to stay generous without draining myself dry.

👉 If you’ve ever felt undervalued, overwhelmed, or just tired of people wanting everything for free - this one’s for you.

  • S2 E3: Self-Care BS: When ‘Protecting Your Energy’ Turns Toxic
    2025/06/25

Self-care isn’t the problem - but using it as an excuse to ghost clients, flake on responsibilities, or dodge hard conversations? That’s where the bullsh*t starts.

In this episode, I break down the rise of the “self-care era” in entrepreneurship, how it’s being twisted into selfishness, and what real, healthy self-care looks like. We’ll explore the psychology, the culture, the damage - and how to set boundaries without burning your business to the ground.
