  • 9-10-26 - The difference Nix & Maye/Bo Nix is a mountain lion & also Spirit Halloween/CFP expanding again?
    2026/09/10
0:00 - WEDNESDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL NEVER DISAPPOINTS. When the game was on the line, Drake Maye didn't show up. He threw 3 INTs in the 4th quarter alone! You know who's the exact opposite of that? Bo Nix.

14:02 - Courtland Sutton said Bo Nix is like a mountain lion pacing back and forth at the zoo. Brett said he's more of a seasonal business like Spirit Halloween or a Christmas tree farm. What the heck are Courtland and Kaner talking about?

31:05 - The College Football Playoff is considering expansion AGAIN. How about a 24 team playoff? Would that produce a compelling postseason product?

  • 9-09-26 - Coach Sanford slandered us/NFL POWER RANKINGS WITH TIERS/The MAC takes a stand
    2026/09/09
0:00 - Coach Sanford started yesterday's edition of The Morning Sprint by taking Brett, Moser, and Vic to task. He chewed us out for a take we had about Broncos @ Chiefs Week 1 on Monday Night Football. But Kaner thinks Coach's rage is misplaced.

15:25 - Some places give you NFL power ranking. Other places divide teams into tiers. But nobody, and I mean NOBODY, gives you both at the same time. Except for us. It's time for Brett Kane's annual NFL POWER RANKINGS WITH TIERS!

35:06 - The MAC finally released a statement on behalf of Western Michigan. They're encouraging the NCAA to do the right thing and retroactively overturn the results of the Michigan game. The clock review was flawed, so the game should officially go down as a 12-7 Western Michigan win. We appreciate the sentiment, but the NCAA would never do that in a million years.

  • 9-08-26 - A crazy college football weekend/CFB STOCK UP - STOCK DOWN/Time zone weirdness, Broncos hopes
    2026/09/08
0:00 - What an ELECTRIC Week 1 of college football! My goodness. CSU looked dominant in their win over Wyoming. Michigan lost their game, found an extra second on the clock, then won on a Hail Mary. Hope you watched it all go down, folks.

15:15 - The first full weekend of college football is in the books, which means it's time...for the return...of COLLEGE FOOTBALL STOCK UP - STOCK DOWN!

31:35 - Kyle Shanahan can't wrap his head around how time zones work. What day is it right now?
After that, DMac has high high hopes for the Broncos this season. And Brett completely agrees with his assessment.

  • 9-04-26 - CU squeaks past Georgia Tech/Did CU change our minds?/Sean Payton conspiring against his team?
    2026/09/04
0:00 - CU @ Georgia Tech was ugly, grimy, wet, sweaty, and dirty, and SOMEHOW the Buffs pulled off the last-minute win. A blocked FG walk-off win is about of thrilling as a finish as you'll find. How do we feel about these new-look Buffs?

14:45 - What did we learn about CU last night? Did they change your mind at all? Are they headed in the right direction?

31:28 - Berto went down a rabbit hole and found an ESPN writer who thinks that Sean Payton is conspiring against his own team by intentionally setting up Davis Webb to fail.

  • 9-03-26 - NBA not harsh enough on Clippers/What if LA won?, CU needs to play D/Payton Prepping for KC
    2026/09/03
0:00 - The NBA finally punished the Clippers/Steve Ballmer/Kawhi Leonard for illegally circumventing the salary cap. Somewhere, Pablo Torre is poppin' bottles. The punishment SEEMS steep. But Brett says it isn't nearly harsh enough.

16:41 - Let's go down a rabbit hole...what if the LA Clippers won a title with Kawhi Leonard? How would the NBA handle this? Would the punishment be ever harsher? Or would the NBA take it easier on them?
Also, CU kicks off their season tonight on the road at Georgia Tech. All eyes will be on this new revamped Go-Go Offense. But Brett will be paying more attention to the defense.

30:39 - We're in the midst of the looooooooong sloooooooowwwww craaawwwwwwl to Broncos @ Chiefs Monday Night Football Week 1. It's so close, and yet so far. As the game approaches, how's Sean Payton feeling about his squad? How are they preparing for Patrick Mahomes coming off his ACL tear back in December?

  • 9-02-26 - Measuring the Broncos success/ESPN's NFL Top 100, The Deion Conundrum/CSU set for success
    2026/09/02
0:00 - If the Broncos want to have continued success this year, they need to adapt/reinvent themselves on both sides of the ball.

12:57 - Let's play a game. ESPN published a list of the Top 100 NFL Players. 5 Broncos made the list. Can you guess who they are, and where they rank?
CU Football kicks off a new season this Thursday. Brett is still trying to wrap his head around what he calls "The Deion Conundrum."

30:11 - CSU Football begins their season on Saturday. It's their first game under new head coach Jim Mora Jr. Brett thinks the program is in a great spot, and Mora was the perfect hire.

  • 9-01-26 - The wrong way to handle dead money/"Top Heavy" Avs, Rox crushing defeat/Cooper pleads not guilty
    2026/09/01
0:00 - The right way to handle dead money: how the Broncos handled the Russell Wilson situation.
The wrong way to handle dead money: what the Miami Dolphins are doing right now.

15:37 - Yesterday, Sean Keeler asked Joe Sakic if the Avs are too "top heavy" after Cale's contract. That narrative has been floating around online in the past few days. Brett thinks that doesn't hold any water, especially in relation to the Makar extension.
Also, last night, the Rockies lost in a truly heartbreaking way that still feels impossible. Hear how it sounded on the Orioles broadcast and the Rockies broadcast. The thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat.

33:02 - Jonathon Cooper plead not guilty to all his charges yesterday, and his trial is set for mid-November. That's like 75% of the way through the regular season. What will the Broncos do? More importantly, how will the NFL handle this?

  • 8-31-26 - Who survived Broncos cut-down day?/No need for 3 QBs/Makar's MONSTER extension
    2026/08/31
0:00 - The initial 53-man roster is finally set! Any surprises? Or did it all go like we expected it would?

15:00 - As of right now, the Broncos kept all 3 QBs on their roster. Brett thinks this is pointless. You really only need 1 backup, because if Bo gets hurt again (god forbid), you're screwed no matter who's backing him up.

32:19 - Cale Makar signed a MONSTER contract extension on Friday. It's the largest contract in NHL history. And yet, Brett still thinks it's a team friendly deal for specific reason.
