Real conversations for women over 50 about aging with confidence, living boldly, and being unapologetically yourself.

Welcome to Sit Next To Me.

Pull up a chair and stay a while.

This is a place for women over 50 to talk about the things we’re actually thinking about at this stage of life—getting older, relationships, friendships, confidence, changing roles, starting over, personal style, beauty, independence, purpose, and becoming more comfortable with who we are.

We’ll talk about what changes as we age, what doesn’t, what we’ve learned, what we’re still figuring out, and why getting older doesn’t mean becoming quieter, smaller, or less visible.

Some conversations will be thoughtful. Some will be fun. Some may challenge the way we’ve always looked at things.

But they all come back to one idea:

You are allowed to keep evolving. You are allowed to be bold. And you are absolutely allowed to be yourself.

No perfect scripts. No pretending we have everything figured out.

Just genuine conversation, life experience, humor, perspective, and a seat at the table for women who know there is still plenty ahead.

Sit next to me. We have a lot to talk about.

  • 4 Easy Icebreakers That Make Small Talk Effortless
    2026/08/11

Small talk doesn’t have to feel awkward or uncomfortable. Sometimes all we need is a simple way to get the conversation started—and an equally comfortable way to end it.

In this episode of Sit Next To Me, I’m sharing 4 easy icebreakers that can make small talk feel more natural and effortless, especially when you’re meeting someone new, attending an event, or simply want to feel more comfortable starting a conversation.

    We’ll talk about:

✦What are you doing and where are you?
Using your surroundings or the situation you’re already in to begin a natural conversation.
    ✦The Compliment
How a sincere compliment can create an easy opening without feeling forced.
✦Ask a Question or an Opinion
Giving the other person something simple and comfortable to respond to.
    ✦A Polite Exit Strategy
How to gracefully end a conversation without feeling awkward or rude.

Connecting with people doesn’t require the perfect words. Sometimes it simply takes a smile, and the willingness to initiate a little conversation.
