Mario talks with Judge LaSheyl Stroud and Samara Tillman about the sisterhood, sharing another generation and the power of friendship. Samara Tillman is the founder and artistic director of Dance E.L.I.T.E. Performance Academy, better known as DEPA. She has over 35 years of experience in dance, education, and fashion. Samara transitioned into the world of education and founded a non-profit while pursuing her Masters in Educational Leadership. Samara founded the non-profit Young E.L.I.T.E. International, an empowerment and leadership program for young girls ages 5 to 18. This program focuses on developing the participant’s self-esteem as well as helping them define and embrace their individual personalities and gifts, ultimately giving them the confidence needed to achieve all their goals and dreams. Judge Lasheyl Stroud has been a licensed attorney for nearly two decades and serves as the lead juvenile judge in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations & Juvenile Branch. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from her beloved HBCU, Kentucky State University. In 2003, she received a Juris Doctorate degree from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. She is a breast cancer survivor and a champion of change.
