Single with Purpose is a Bible-based podcast created to help single Christian men grow in faith, character, discipline, leadership, and responsibility.

Each episode explores what it means to live as a godly man in today’s culture—not by following stereotypes, chasing status, or waiting for marriage to provide purpose, but by becoming faithful to Christ in every area of life. Through practical Bible teaching and examples from men such as Joseph, David, Daniel, Peter, and Paul, the show addresses integrity, passivity, spiritual discipline, temptation, friendship, accountability, servant leadership, and personal responsibility.

Whether you are navigating singleness, preparing for marriage, rebuilding after failure, or simply seeking to become the man God has called you to be, Single with Purpose will challenge and encourage you to stand firm in the faith, walk humbly with God, serve others with strength and love, and live with purpose right now.

  • 12. Discipline in Everyday Life
    2026/08/20

Biblical discipline is about more than having a productive schedule or accomplishing more each day. It is about learning to faithfully steward the life, time, responsibilities, and resources God has entrusted to us.

In Episode 12 of Single With Purpose, we look at Proverbs 6:6–11, 1 Corinthians 9:24–27, and Colossians 3:23 to explore what Scripture teaches about discipline in everyday life. From the wisdom of the ant to Paul’s picture of an athlete training with purpose, the Bible reminds us that spiritual maturity should influence the practical areas of our lives.

We’ll talk about applying biblical discipline to sleep, work, finances, health, time management, and personal responsibilities. Small areas of disorder may seem insignificant, but when they are continually neglected, they can eventually weaken our ability to handle larger responsibilities well.

Discipline is not about pursuing perfection, impressing others, or creating the appearance that we have everything together. It is about faithful stewardship. Healthy discipline can actually create greater freedom by reducing unnecessary chaos, helping us become more dependable, and allowing us to give our attention to what matters most.

Paul writes that he disciplines his body and brings it under control because he is living with a purpose. In the same way, followers of Christ should approach everyday responsibilities intentionally, remembering the words of Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.”

This episode’s challenge: Identify one area of your life you have been neglecting and commit to a simple, realistic improvement plan for the next 30 days. Don’t try to change everything at once. Choose one area, remain consistent, and practice faithful stewardship one day at a time.

Discipline in the ordinary areas of life prepares us to faithfully handle greater responsibilities when God places them before us.

  • 11. Developing Spiritual Discipline
    2026/08/19

In this episode, we explore what it means to develop spiritual discipline and why consistent habits are essential for a man who wants to grow in godliness.

Paul tells Timothy to “train yourself for godliness” (1 Timothy 4:7–8), reminding us that spiritual maturity does not happen by accident. Just as physical strength requires training, a strong walk with God requires intentional habits of prayer, Scripture, worship, and reflection.

We’ll look at Psalm 1:1–3 and the picture of a man whose life is firmly rooted because he continually delights in God’s Word. We’ll also look at the example of Jesus in Mark 1:35, who intentionally withdrew to a solitary place to pray—even in the middle of a demanding ministry.

    In this episode, we discuss:

    • Why spiritual growth requires intentional training
    • The difference between biblical discipline and legalism
    • Why consistency matters more than emotional intensity
    • How prayer and Scripture prepare us to face temptation
    • Why disciplined men are better prepared to carry responsibility
    • How to build spiritual habits that are realistic and sustainable

Spiritual discipline is not about trying to earn God’s favor. It is about intentionally creating space in our lives to know God, hear His Word, strengthen our faith, and become the men He has called us to be.

This week’s challenge: Create a realistic seven-day Bible reading and prayer schedule—and commit to following it whether you feel motivated or not.

Spiritual maturity is built one faithful day at a time.

Primary Scriptures: 1 Timothy 4:7–8, Psalm 1:1–3, Mark 1:35 (BSB)

  • 10. Courageous Initiative
    2026/08/18

In this episode of Single With Purpose, we look at what it means to live with courageous initiative—moving forward in faithful obedience even when fear, uncertainty, or feelings of inadequacy are present.

Through the examples of Joshua and Nehemiah, we’ll see that biblical courage is not the absence of fear; it is choosing to obey God in the middle of it. We’ll discuss how godly initiative begins by recognizing what needs to be done and then responding with prayer, wise planning, perseverance, and trust in God’s presence.

You do not have to feel completely confident before taking the next step. As 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

This episode’s challenge: Choose one God-honoring goal you have been delaying and write down the first three steps you need to take to begin.

    Primary Scriptures: Joshua 1:6–9; Nehemiah 2:11–18; 2 Timothy 1:7.
