The Sacramento Kings are revving up their point guard depth with a bold move: Ben Simmons, signed for $3.5M on a one-year deal, is set to back up rookie Darius Acuff Jr. After a health-focused offseason, Simmons is already in Sacramento ready to play, bringing elite defense, All-Defensive accolades, and elite playmaking—averaging over seven assists per game—to a team focused on offense. Veteran Richard Jefferson believes Simmons can return to All-Star form if used correctly, leveraging his length, steals, and ability to elevate scorers like Malik Monk. While his shooting remains a concern, his passing and defensive versatility could be the missing piece the Kings need to disrupt opponents and elevate their bench.
