Welcome to Silently Blessed Podcast hosted by Bernard "Jesse" and Luemisher "MiMi" James, where we discuss family, finances, and marriage. We call it FFM. Stick around, and prayerfully, you will catch nuggets that YOU can use in your family, finances, and marriage. Part 01 was an interview episode of the Silently Blessed Podcast featuring Mike Childs.Mike Childs shares his 21-year marriage journey and divorce experience. Mike, a trained musician from Philadelphia, married his wife in 1996 after meeting at Norfolk State University, where they both studied music. The marriage ended in 2017 after 21 years, with a 2-year separation before divorce was finalized in 2019. During the interview, Mike discussed how he initially stayed in the marriage for so long due to his faith and commitment to the covenant, despite his wife wanting a different life path. He explained that his wife's significant weight loss and lifestyle changes created a "completely different person" physically, which he felt contributed to the marital issues. Mike shared that he continued to show love and support even after the divorce, including bringing meals when she was sick and taking time off work to be by her side during recovery. He emphasized the importance of seeking professional help when relationships struggle and advised couples to focus on listening to understand rather than just responding. Mike's message to listeners was about knowing their worth, seeking help when needed, and understanding that relationships require compromise and growth over time. To God be the GLORY.
