Some residents near Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster are concerned about the proximity of a group of neighbors who are raising national security questions.

The U.S. Congress is working to pass a federal budget that includes an effort by west-central Missouri Congressman Mark Alford to protect U.S. military bases, including Whiteman.

Minors in Missouri could be barred from using social media under a bill in the state House. It’s named for Megan Meier, a 13-year-old girl who committed suicide 20 years ago after being bullied online.
