Should a Christian attend a same-sex wedding—even when it's someone you deeply love? Does attending mean approval, and does declining mean rejection?
Those are painful questions. In this video, I respond to a viewer wrestling with a possible wedding invitation from a family member. I explain why I would not attend a same-sex wedding, how I would communicate that decision, and why biblical conviction must never become an excuse for cruelty or withdrawing our love.
We'll look at what Jesus teaches about marriage, why attending a wedding raises a different question than sharing a meal, and how to respond with both clarity and compassion.
But the conversation cannot end with a declined invitation.
In 1 Corinthians 6:9–11, we find the hope that must shape our response: forgiveness, cleansing, and new life in Jesus Christ. Sexual sin is not beyond the reach of the gospel. And none of us stands before God without needing his grace.
Love doesn't require affirmation.
Conviction doesn't excuse cruelty.
We have one Savior for sinners.
