Haley Irwin will serve as Ottawa’s interim head coach. The Seattle Torrent’s home opener broke an attendance record for U.S. pro women’s hockey with over 16,000 fans. The expiring WNBA CBA has been extended yet again until after the new year. The exact same thing happened in 2020, the last time there was a CBA negotiation in the WNBA. 1.2 million viewers tuned into the NWSL championship, an increase of 22% over last year. Spain defeats Germany to capture the Nations League, but suffer a huge blow when superstar midfielder Aitana Bonmati breaks her leg in training.
