In 2020, during the great resignation, she quit her job, which was so stressful as a toxicologist without having anything lined up and at a crossroads. Itacate means food for the journey. With the lack of diversity in the outdoors in general, she didn’t see her culture reflected in the backcountry menu. She shares how she built a brand and business for adventurers with great taste and strong values and how she is preparing for the year ahead.

She has a PhD in Game Production, she also has a Masters in Psychology, a Masters in Human Organizational Systems, and a Bachelor’s is in Public Relations and Communication. She is passionate about using games to bring change to the world. She has worked on several game projects for non-profits including War Child, Hogeschool van Amsterdam, Digital Society School and Child Rheumatoid arthritis for the Netherlands. She believes creating playful products should not be a headache. Any product can be created when all members of the team are skilled and supported.
