On December 3, 1998, Julie Jensen was found dead in her Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin home, poisoned by ethylene glycol. Antifreeze. In the months before her death, she had been quietly documenting her fear: emails to police, and a letter handed to a neighbor with one instruction — open it only if I die. In it, she named her husband, Mark.
In this episode, Brian Scott and Jill Egan pull back the veil on one of Wisconsin's most haunting murder cases: a marriage unraveling in silence, a murder weapon sold at any hardware store, and a letter the courts fought over for twenty-five years.
It took a decade for the first conviction, a Wisconsin Supreme Court reversal over the letter itself, and a second trial in 2023 to finally put Mark Jensen behind bars for life.
