Word #46: SHOPPING
Today's lesson was a dive into a beloved family activity. The word "shopping" was defined in the simplest terms—going out to buy things—and then immediately connected to her own life through the story of going shopping with Mommy and receiving a flower. This personal connection made the word stick.
We practiced the past tense ("Mummy bought me...") and played a game naming other things we can shop for, from cars to bags to shoes. This interactive approach builds confidence and shows how one word can open up a world of conversation about our daily lives and desires.
Join us as we learn the words for our family errands and joys—one shopping trip, one "flower," one "what else?" at a time.
This podcast inspired the Speak English series, The Spark audiobooks, and the SCEC Classroom Companion.
