Word #47: SHOP
Building on yesterday's lesson about "shopping," today we named the place where it happens: the "shop." Using the shops right outside the car window as our live textbook, we defined a shop simply as a place to buy things. We connected it to a familiar favorite—Lawson—and the specific treats she gets there (yogurt, milk), making the word deeply personal.
We even noticed a shop "under construction," creating a spontaneous link to a previous vocabulary word. This is learning that is fully integrated into the environment, showing her that language is all around her, naming the places that are part of her daily life.
Join us as we learn the words for the places we know and love—one shop, one "yogurt," one street at a time.
