Rashida is a public servant, an author, and the founder of Black Ember Press. She wrote Permission to Break, hosts the Compassion Over Silence podcast, and is building a nonprofit called Black Ember House while working a full-time job and raising a teenage daughter.

We talk about how your personal demons become your business obstacles, why accepting help was the hardest thing she has ever done, how she got comfortable saying no for right now instead of no forever, and what legacy actually looks like when the car and the title and the degrees still leave you empty.
