Was Jesus' teaching about navigating life what people expected? Kyle Henderson-Begg looks at what Jesus' Sermon on the Mount says about dealing with difficulties like anger, broken relationships and how to respond to evil. If this were a challenge or a 'to do' list, we might not have any chance, but what if Jesus didn't just talk about a way of life, but was the way of life?

What if God grabbed your attention every so often? Owen Lynch looks at a festival set in Israel's historic calendar to engage them in the middle of a long, hot season where work might have become difficult and attention may have drifted. Could we use reminders from time to time about what we're in the middle of, and why? And could find that God is already present in us when we need a wake-up call?

How much do we rely on God? David Jennings looks at the way he tends to trust God naturally when needing special or miraculous intervention, but had to learn to trust him for other things too. This includes growing the fruit of the Spirit - love, joy, peace and patience can seem like things we should just try harder to be good at, but Jesus told followers to rely on connection with him to grow them. Are our everyday expectations for what God can do with us too small? What would happen if we fully relied on God and his love for us?
