“The Canaanite woman came seeking healing for her child and was willing to settle for crumbs. What she revealed was that there was never a shortage of grace [...] that there is no less grace for us because there is grace for them. God's love does not become smaller or less for some when it expands to all.”

“Sometimes we want Jesus to be the Messiah we want, we don’t always want Jesus to be the Messiah we need... the Messiah we need does not simply affirm everything we already believe. He holds us accountable and calls us out, beyond ourselves. [The Messiah we need] challenges us to examine the fears, anxieties, and assumptions that shape how we move through the world."

May we live our lives in such a way that our stories might be counted among them."
