• Peter Levenstrong — Known by Name, October 18, 2026
    2026/10/18

Preaching on Exodus 33:12–23 and Matthew 22:15–22, Peter reflects on what happens to our sense of purpose as AI begins to outpace human achievement, beginning with the grief now moving through the world of mathematics. Standing in the wreckage of the golden calf, Moses asks God not for glory but for company, and God answers by knowing him by name; Jesus, handed a trap about taxes, asks whose image is on the coin. Peter invites us to let the machine have what belongs to it, and to give God our attention, our worship, our curiosity and our play, trusting that our worth was never in being heroes but in being known.

  • Stephanie Spellers — Any Robe Is Fine, October 11, 2026
    2026/10/11

Preaching on the parable of the wedding banquet (Matthew 22:1–14), Stephanie Spellers begins with a childhood memory of a baptism that never happened and asks what to do with the furious king in Matthew's telling. She explores why Matthew's embattled community told the story so harshly, and makes the case that we have permission to wrestle with these texts and to name where they show us who God isn't. In their place she offers Jesus's lighter yoke and a God of grace who simply wants everyone at the table.
