Why do we so often tell ourselves, “I’ll start tomorrow”? In this reflection, Fr. Rob explores Jesus’ parable of the workers in the vineyard and the challenge it presents to our sense of fairness. Most of us naturally identify with the workers who labored all day and wonder why everyone received the same reward. But Jesus invites us to see ourselves differently.
Fr. Rob explains that, more often than not, we are the workers who arrive late, the ones who have delayed making changes, postponed acts of kindness, or put off trusting God more deeply. The good news of the Gospel is that it is never too late. God's mercy, love, and healing are not earned by perfect performance or timing. They are gifts freely given to those willing to trust him.
This homily reminds us that instead of waiting for tomorrow to become the people God calls us to be, we can begin today by placing our lives in Christ's hands and trusting in his infinite mercy.
