How does a lifetime of serving others shape the stories we tell?

In this episode of The Cultural Curriculum Chat™ Podcast, Jebeh Edmunds sits down with author, legal nurse consultant, hospice specialist, and educator Nancy Jasin Ensley to explore how decades of caring for people inspired a rich body of work spanning memoir, literary fiction, mystery, thriller, science fiction, and children's literature.

Nancy reflects on the lessons she's learned through healthcare, teaching, faith, and family, and how those experiences have influenced her writing and deepened her understanding of the human experience. Together, they discuss the connection between service and storytelling, the importance of preserving life's moments, and why empathy remains one of a writer's greatest strengths.

Whether you're a writer, educator, caregiver, or lifelong learner, this conversation will encourage you to see your own experiences as stories worth honoring and sharing.

In this episode, you'll discover:

• How a career in healthcare shaped Nancy's voice as a writer
• Why empathy is at the heart of every great story
• Writing across multiple genres while staying authentic
• The role of family, faith, and service in creative work
• Practical encouragement for aspiring writers and storytellers
