0:34. Intro / Our general thoughts: We are the most informed people on earth about Goodbye June ! Angie saw it three times in England in person before its release on Netflix. We listened to all the interviews. Did this movie meet our very high expectations?

11:34. In a funny reference to the film, Angie clicks annoyingly on her pen. Humor used in the film including with Toni’s character, the opening scenes, and the clever parts of the script that had nothing to do with dialog.

17:48. If Kate will direct again, and how she always says it with a caveat: “If I get to direct again…”.

20:22. How we liked that the diversity wasn’t pushed on the audience, it just existed and was.

23:21. How close is this movie based on the real-life family of Joe Anders and Kate Winslet?

23:47. Shout out to Honey Doughnuts & Goodies in Deep Cove, Vancouver. A scene in the movie is directly from a real-life singing occurrence that happened here.

27:50. Strategies that Kate used as a director, including with the young child actors. How Angie is distracted by something way more than boom mics.

35:54. How Anne would be a good director, and how this relates to an incredible memory and communication talent that Kate has.

40:03. Was Kate insane to act, produce, and direct all at once? Would it have been easier for her to just direct?

40:37. Acting performances that stood out. Which characters (and thus the acting) could have been expanded more.

44:28. Anne suddenly interrupts, how she remembers a 2016 actress roundtable that included Helen Mirren and where Kate says she’d love to work with Toni Collette one day. How serendipitous!

59:01. The importance of watching movies in theatres (said by people including James Cameron and Leonardo DiCaprio), contrasted with how Netflix is a streaming service that hugely helped Kate and Joe.

1:03:11. Our excitement (more like Anne’s obsession) to hear the upcoming Lessons From Our Mothers podcast with Kate. At the time of our recording, it had not come out yet. It’s out now! Fantastic conversation with Kate.

1:06:20. How Kate gave many “firsts” to people (examples Ben Harlan, Grace Clark), and how she remembers everyone who has helped her in her career or life.

1:13:24. We were right about our initial thoughts about the comma (“Goodbye, June”) in Toni’s Instagram story. Our message to Kate’s PR people: Have genuine supporters interview her, and she is guaranteed to have a refreshing informed magical time!
