Oakley is thirteen, and last week he collapsed in the yard. Congestive heart failure, an enlarged heart pressing on his trachea, and a dog who as RJ puts it, got old real fast.

RJ talks about what it means to run a dog rescue and act first, feel later, because out here you don't get the luxury of falling apart in the moment. There's Lucky, hit by a truck and given up on, who took two laps of water out of a bowl and changed everything. And there's the fact that Oakley is half the namesake of the ranch — MILOAK, Milo and Oakley, the two who started it.

Then Dolly Parton died at 80, two years after her husband Carl, whose care she put ahead of her own. Rob and RJ get into the whole thing: writing "Jolene" and "9 to 5" in the same day, the Whitney Houston royalty check she kept in a drawer, the rock album at 78, and a woman who could have been a billionaire and chose to be generous instead.
