  • Biblical Wellness: Herbs, Supplements, Inflammation, and Natural Healing
    2025/12/11

We’re talking all about herbs, supplements, and holistic wellness through a biblical lens.

The heart of the conversation centers on how God designed plants to nourish, heal, and support our bodies, and how we can steward our health intentionally without ever losing sight of faith. This is a practical, grounded discussion rooted in Scripture, personal experience, and everyday application. Not medical advice, but an invitation to explore wellness wisely and prayerfully.

    You’ll hear:
Biblical foundation for holistic health, including Genesis 1 and Ezekiel 47 (02:30)

A breakdown of key wellness terms and why they matter in everyday life (05:22)

Herbs and supplements that can support inflammation, digestion, menstrual pain, muscle cramps, fatigue, and sleep, including rosemary, turmeric, ginger, magnesium, and vitamin B complexes (06:51).

Practical use herbs, especially through tea (14:31).

A few practical notes you’ll want to keep in mind:
You’ll notice several herbs showing up in more than one category. These are some of the most versatile options; easy to keep on hand, convenient for daily use, and long-lasting when stored properly. Most can be found dried at your local health food store. Store them in a cool, dry place and they’ll keep well over time.

When building a tea blend, start with two or three herbs to find the flavor balance that works best for you. Steeping longer than 10 minutes may create a stronger or more bitter taste. Simply boil water and pour it over your tea bag or tea ball.

Antioxidant-rich (boost immunity, protect against chronic disease):

    • Elderberry
    • Clove
    • Lemon Balm
    • Ginger
    • Cinnamon

    Anti-inflammatory (reduce swelling):

    • Rosemary
    • Thyme
    • Turmeric & Black Pepper
    • Ginger
    • Fennel
    • Clove
    • Cayenne Pepper

    Analgesic (reduce pain):

    • Turmeric & Black Pepper
    • Ginger
    • Rosemary
    • Peppermint
    • Eucalyptus

My hope is that this episode empowers you to think differently about wellness, ask better questions, and explore natural supports with confidence and discernment. I look forward to walking alongside you on your wellness journey!

  • Your Massage Starts Before You Arrive
    2025/12/05

    Hello Beautiful Sunshine!

In today’s episode, we’re diving into what it really means to prepare your mind, body, and spirit for a massage. This is all about honoring the vessel God gave you through intentional rest, hydration, and informed care. We touch on why preparation matters just as much as the massage itself, how to advocate for your needs, and how faith shapes the way we slow down and allow our bodies to reset.

    You’ll hear:

    • Hydration as the foundation of a good massage (00:45)
    • Why your intake form actually matters (02:30)
    • What massage is and is not—including why communication is essential for comfort and informed consent (04:53)
    • Thoughts on your nervous system, blood pressure, anxiety, and lymphatic function (07:36)
    • Preparation 2-3 hours before you massage (13:26)
    • Creating massage goals (22:23)

Finally, we close with a reflection on biblical rest. The reminder that even God modeled rest for us, and that when we withhold rest from our bodies...well you'll find out what happens.

My hope is that this episode gives you clarity, peace, and permission to slow down, so your next massage becomes not just a luxury, but a moment of stewardship, healing, and sacred renewal.

  • Everyday Skincare Routines for Black Women
    2025/09/05

    Hello Beautiful Sunshine!
This episode, we’re talking all about skincare, self-care, and how it all ties into being good stewards of the body God has given us. The heart of the conversation is why skincare matters, why sunscreen is important for every skin tone, and how faith influences the way we care for ourselves.

    You’ll hear:
The story of how early exposure to sunblock shifted cultural norms and why protecting your skin goes way beyond looks (02:39).

Some of the common myths in the Black community about melanin, oily skin, and moisturizers (06:39)

The basics of daily skincare routines—cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing, and why consistent maintenance matters more than expensive treatments. (10:26)

How caring for your skin connects to the bigger theme of stewardship in this season. (15:23)

Finally, we close with a powerful reminder that beauty is already there before the makeup goes on, and how intentional self-care can heal emotional wounds, boost confidence, and help you reflect God’s design from the inside out. (36:25)

I'm hopeful this episode helps combat the lunch table conversation about if Black people need sunscreen and how we engage in self care. I look forward to supporting you on your wellness journey!

  • Faith and Wellness: How to Steward Your Body Well
    2025/09/04

    Hello Beautiful Sunshine!
This episode covers what it looks like to truly steward your body well as part of your Faith walk. There are some scriptures that I'm sharing to remind us God’s design for us is wellness. Believe it or not, there is a connection between holistic health and His will.

    Scripture mentioned in this episode:

    • Isaiah 58:11
    • Hosea 4:6
    • James 1:5
    • 2 Timothy 1:7
    • 3 John 1:2
    • Revelation 12:11
    • Matthew 25:14–30

Whether it's food, media, or even habits--being mindful about what we’re putting in our bodies is the true key to self discipline and wellness. (04:15) But within all of that discipline, we have to strike a balance and not lean too far into the belief of “the power of me.” (07:25) And would you believe one of the things that helped me get even more serious about my wellness was my knee? (18:07) Finally, we shift into stillness, breathwork, and even a little chat about yoga. (19:28) Focusing on movement and breath are ways to honor the bodies God gave us. We wrap up with the call to steward all areas of life—body, mind, spirit, and relationships. In effort to prompt you to take action, you have some homework. (26:41)

I'm hopeful this episode serves you well, friend. Looking forward to supporting you in your wellness journey.

  • You had a massage, now what?
    2025/09/04

In this episode, I’m getting into one of the questions I get all the time: what should you actually do after your massage?

Right at the start (00:31), I share why stretching isn’t just something to think about after your appointment, rather it’s something you should be doing daily, but especially after you’ve invested in your body with a massage. Then let's talk hydration! (02:54) Staying hydrated is how your lymphatic system drains, skipping it can leave you feeling “yucky” instead of refreshed. And believe it or not, rest is not optional. (04:18) It’s actually the best gift you can give your body after aaaaalllll that deep work. Thinking about moving on with your regular routine after a 90 minute massage? Or worse, heading to the gym? Think again! (05:49)

I hope you get some value from this episode. I look forward to supporting you on your wellness journey!
