  • Season 5, Episode 64: Interview with Megan Franich (Iris) from “30 Days of Night” (2007)
    2025/10/03

Often do I catch myself watching a movie about Dracula style vampires but the way they're depicted in 30 Days of Night are how I'd imagine vampires would be in real life- brutal and near indescribable killing machines. That premise being vampires being allowed to run berserk in Alaska during a 30-day period when there is no sun to force them into hibernation during the day. It’s simple yet fresh enough to maintain my interest.

What an amazing and talented actress! Megan portrays one of the best female vampires in one of my favorite vampire movies. I’d like to brag about Megan’s talents and the ability to endure such a role; I am sure that it wasn’t easy to film a movie in just 33 days.

But there is more! Megan talks about how much fun it was to play a vampire alongside Danny Huston and how much she enjoyed the makeup process.

And for those that don’t know, 30 Days of Night was NOT filmed in the extreme cold of Barrow, Alaska, it was filmed in a hangar. The small town which you see in the movie was a set constructed in a hanger… Mind totally blown.

To make the interview more interesting, Megan talked about the deleted/alternate scenes that did not make it in the final cut. However, I would have loved to have seen those deleted scenes.

You can still watch this amazing vampire movie on Xumo Play, Google Play, Apple TV, YouTube, Amazon Prime, and Fandango at Home.

  • Season 5, Episode 63: Interview with Legendary Actress Sybil Danning (Stirba) from “Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf (1985)
    2025/09/30

Howling II: Your Sister is a Werewolf picks up right after Joe Dante’s original The Howling but there’s no denying that this movie is a ruthless slice of low-fi gothic cult film making, making it a huge success. It’s not a film that everyone will love, but for those of you who enjoy unconventional cult classics, Howling II is a movie that may be right up your eccentric alley.

After waiting almost an entire year to speak to her, I am excited to say that it was an absolute honor and pleasure to have spoken to the legendary actress herself and getting to know her on a more personal level. There was a lot to take in during this interview, but I must admit that I was intrigued the entire time.

Knowing what kind of career Sybil Danning has built up for herself over the past four decades, you have to admire her. Afterall, she is essentially the Queen of Hollywood. No one could have played Stirba better than her in the film.

The back history of the film, behind the scenes, what it was like to be on the same set as Christopher Lee; all this is spoken by her is priceless knowledge. You cannot label her as an amateur actress, but only as a legend who has seen and been through it all. More notably, as an actress who continues to reign the reels of Hollywood and I cannot wait to see more of her work on the big screen.

  • Season 5, Episode 62: Interview with Alexandra Barreto (Patricia) from “Descendent” (2025)
    2025/09/26

Descendant is an amazing film that is an incredibly intriguing dive into the complex emotions that come from fatherhood and the urge to both provide and protect one’s growing family. Obviously, it’s one of those movies that is full of question marks. The temptation here might be to interpret the plot a few different ways and then try to make sense of ending.

Having to sit down and gain the insight from Alexandra about this movie was fun; asking her opinion about the film’s plot and to see if she believes whether ‘Sean” was actually abducted by aliens or did he have a mental breakdown. I guess it was the director’s intention to leave in the dark and come up with our own conclusion.

Either way, this film is very confusing, but it also has it’s high points. I definitely recommend watching this movie if you’re into psychological horror.

Descendent is now available to watch on Google Play Movies & TV, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, and Amazon Prime.
