Trauma-Informed Support for Big Behaviors & Misunderstood Kids

Are you an educator exhausted by challenging behaviors, power struggles, and wondering what else you can possibly try? Maybe there’s one child you just can’t figure out, the one whose behaviors push adults away, disrupt everything around them, or leave you thinking,What am I missing?”

Hi, I’m Trish Zenczak, M.Ed.L., a former educator, trauma-informed speaker, foster and adoptive mom, and survivor of complex childhood trauma. I know what it’s like to be the misunderstood child, and I know what it’s like to be the adult trying desperately to reach one.

Society’s Child is primarily for educators, but it’s also for foster and adoptive parents, Sunday school teachers, caregivers, coaches, mentors, and anyone entrusted with the care and influence of a child.

Together, we’ll look beyond behavior and get curious about what may be happening underneath it. You’ll find practical strategies, nervous system insights, trauma-informed approaches, and honest conversations to help you:

  • Understand what may be driving challenging behavior
  • Reduce power struggles and respond to dysregulation
  • Create greater safety, connection, and calm
  • Become a courageous champion for the children others may misunderstand

My Christian faith shapes who I am and how I see children, so you’ll also hear faith and encouragement woven naturally into our conversations.

Because every child deserves to be understood before they are judged.
