The Foundation conducts a second exploration of SCP-087, sending another subject deep into the seemingly endless staircase.
Equipped with a brighter flood lamp and dozens of LED markers, D begins descending while the distant sound of a crying child echoes from somewhere far below.
No matter how many flights he descends, the crying never gets closer.
Then he discovers strange damage carved into the stairwell.
And eventually, the face from the first expedition appears again.
Only this time, SCP-087-1 does something it had never done before.
It moves.
