Il primo episodio si apre con un’intervista alla prof.ssa Roberta Ricucci dell’Università degli Studi di Torino e alla dott.ssa Isolde Quadranti dell’Università degli Studi di Verona, che illustrano la missione di SAR Italia e le principali sfide affrontate dalla rete. Si approfondiscono le attività portate avanti, con particolare attenzione al lavoro di advocacy e alla sensibilizzazione del pubblico sulle tematiche legate alla libertà accademica e alla protezione degli studiosi a rischio. Viene presentato il progetto podcast come strumento per informare e coinvolgere un pubblico più ampio, condividendo storie di studiosi a rischio e promuovendo la libertà accademica. L’obiettivo è informare e sensibilizzare sulle attività di SAR Italia, creare un dialogo aperto e aumentare la visibilità della rete.
