"Ryan has been in the construction industry for 27 years.  Starting out as a residential/light commercial carpenter, he then progressed to the foreman and superintendent roles working in high end residential remodeling.  Ryan then struck out on his own becoming a general contractor specializing in remodeling and finish work.  After the market crash of 2008 and at the urging of longtime friends Ryan joined Piledrivers local 1847 in 2011.  Going from a Non-Union carpenter to becoming a union Pile Driver with benefits was a dramatic change for Ryan and his family and he quickly became very involved in his local union as a delegate and later Vice President.  After working as a foreman for a foundation contractor, he took the position  of business representative in 2016.  Ryan represents Pile Drivers and Highway Heavy Carpenters along with fulfilling roles such as trustee on the pension, health and welfare and defined contribution funds, as well as sitting on two joint apprenticeship training committees and as the mentoring lead for the council.  Ryan has sat on multiple bargaining committees to assist in contract negotiations and currently sits on a number of Highway/Heavy industry boards and committees.  In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and two boys. Getting on the water and out in the field as an outdoorsman, manning the grill for all types of BBQ and collecting vinyl are a few of his other hobbies."
