When Matthew Tate, a 300-year-old warlock, is released from a cursed locket, the sisters seek the help of their 17th century ancestor, Melinda Warren, in recapturing him. Meanwhile, Piper works up the courage to ask out Leo, and Andy gets frustrated at Prue's continued involvement in bizarre police investigations.

Prue's boss - and secret warlock - Rex makes his move on the Charmed Ones. Using astral projection, he tricks Prue into stealing a tiara from the vault at the auction house, and blackmails the sisters into relinquishing their powers...
