  • #21 Why You Should Live in the Sorority House
    2026/07/29

Living in a sorority house is not like the movies. It is not nonstop chaos, glitter and dance parties, although there is definitely some chaos and plenty of glitter. In this Season Two episode of Rush Talk, Brooke and Chloe give an honest look at what it is really like to live in an Oklahoma State sorority house.

They break down the logistics parents want to know, including house directors, security, meals, study spaces, parking, shared rooms and live-in requirements. They also explain the biggest advantages: built-in friendships, academic support, leadership opportunities, convenience and the everyday moments that turn acquaintances into lifelong friends.

But living in the house is not perfect. The conversation also covers noise, limited privacy, roommate conflict, learning to advocate for yourself and why parents should resist fighting every college battle for their daughters. Brooke and Chloe share why living in the house can be especially important for COB members who are trying to catch up socially and fully connect with their chapter.

From move-in advice to the long-term impact of living with 70 other women, this episode makes the case for buying into the full sorority experience. Listen for the honest advice, hilarious stories and perspective every future member and sorority parent should hear.

  • #20 The Truth About Getting a Spring COB Bid
    2026/07/22

Formal recruitment is not the only way to join a sorority — but is continuous open bidding really an easier path?

In this episode of Rush Talk, Chloe shares her firsthand experience joining Alpha Chi Omega through COB at Oklahoma State University. We explain how continuous open bidding works, how chapters contact potential new members and why the process may include anything from a coffee date to an informal event at the chapter house.

You’ll also learn how COB differs from formal recruitment, why spring bids can be extremely competitive and what happens when a chapter only has a few available spots. Chloe gets honest about joining an established pledge class, finding her big, moving into the house and wondering whether she missed part of the traditional sorority experience.

Plus, Brooke and Chloe discuss why waiting for a particular chapter can be risky, how housing decisions affect COB members and what it takes to become fully involved after joining in the spring. Their biggest advice is clear: Don't use COB simply as a strategy to avoid formal recruitment — but know that it can still lead to an incredible sorority experience.

If COB is part of your recruitment plan, listen before you start waiting for that text.
