To close out the season in style, we’re wrapping up Round 24 with a deep dive into the vault for another classic edition of "First Time They Met." We’re looking back at the historic milestone matches where clubs finally broke through to secure their very first victory against their opponents.

• Gold Coast vs. St Kilda (R1, 2013): Gary Ablett taking absolute control in the final term to deliver the Suns a memorable 13-point comeback win over the Saints.

• Fremantle vs. Carlton (R3, 1996): The expansion Freo Dockers pulling off a massive 53-point shocker to snap Carlton’s historic 18-game winning streak.

• Footscray vs. Melbourne (R16, 1931): A wet-weather slog at the Western Oval where the Tricolours mastered the mud to top the Demons.

• Port Adelaide vs. Essendon (R17, 1997): Port’s dominant 6-goal third-quarter blitz to record their inaugural win over the Bombers.

Plus, we cover the history and stats behind Collingwood vs. Brisbane, Geelong vs. Richmond, Adelaide vs. GWS, Sydney vs. North Melbourne, and West Coast vs. Hawthorn!

It’s time to kick back one last time—this is our final episode of the year! We have a new podcast we are already working on that we will be releasing in early 2027. Thank you so much for tuning in, supporting the show, and riding shotgun with us all seaso
