• I still haven’t seen Kyu ni Guai ga Waruku Naru (“Suddenly Feeling Unwell”). I have no idea when I’m finally going to see it!
• Speaking of movies, I watched The Village of Eight Gravestones (Yatsuhaka-mura). I don’t usually watch old Japanese movies, but this one was released in 1977, the year I was born. It’s a famous horror mystery based on a novel by Seishi Yokomizo. One interesting thing about this movie is that, unlike in the TV series, Kōsuke Kindaichi is played by Kiyoshi Atsumi. And when you think of Kiyoshi Atsumi, of course, you think of Otoko wa Tsurai yo (It’s Tough Being a Man).
• Tomorrow, Thursday, August 27th, we’re having a Japanese-language open mic at “Nanimonai Basho” in Koenji.
• By the way, I performed at the Shimokita Japanese Open Mic at Gakuya in Shimokitazawa on Monday, August 17th. I’m planning to perform there again next month, on Monday, September 14th.
• It looks like TITAN in Otsuka is still running English-language comedy events. I’d really like to understand English a little better, but apparently the only way to improve is to actually go out there and do it. So I’m thinking about performing there again as well.
• I’ve also started going around to bars and snack bars again. After all, communication is one of the basics of being human. I actually think listening to other people is much harder than talking about yourself. MCs and hosts have to listen to what people say, respond to it, and keep the whole thing moving. So for me, it’s good practice.
• And then there’s recording this podcast. Each episode is about 50 minutes long, and apparently people say it’s difficult to keep talking by yourself for 50 minutes. I don’t think it’s that difficult, though!
• I think the hardest thing is simply to keep going. But at the same time, there’s no need to put too much pressure on ourselves. Let’s just relax, enjoy ourselves, and keep it going.

・相変わらず「急に具合が悪くなる」まだ見てません。いつになることやら

・映画といえば「八つ墓村」を見ました。古い日本の映画を見るのは珍しいのですが、この映画は1977年、自分の生まれ年に公開された作品で、横溝正史原作のホラーとして有名な作品ですね。主人公の金田一耕助役がドラマと違って渥美清さんが演じているというのが個性的なのですが、渥美清さんといえばやはり「男はつらいよ」なので

・明日8月27日（木）、高円寺「なにもない場所」で日本語オープンマイクです

・ちなみに8月17日（月）、下北沢Gakuyaで行われた下北日本語オープンマイク、出演してきました。来月（9月14日（月））も出る予定です

・大塚TITANは変わらず英語コメディイベントをやっているようです。英語がもう少し分かるようになりたいけど、行かないと成長しないらしいのでこちらも出場を考えてみます

・バーめぐり、スナックめぐり復活しました。やっぱりコミュニケーションは人間の基本。自分の話をするよりも、人の話を聞く方がよほど難しいとは思いますが、MCや司会の人はその話を受けてその場を回すわけで。練習ですね。

・ポッドキャスト収録、この番組は50分の収録をしているわけですが、50分間一人で話続けることが難しいとのこと。そんなことないんですけどね。

・続けることが一番大変だと思います。とはいえ、気張らずに気楽にやっていきましょう。

• On Wednesday, August 12, I took part in a stand-up comedy show at DEN in Koenji, featuring a mix of English and Japanese comedy. For more details, check out the “greeenjacketcomedy” account on Instagram. The Koenji stand-up show organized by Runako will apparently be back again next month, so I’m definitely planning to keep taking part!
• Next up, on Monday, August 17, I’m planning to perform at Hiroshi Shimizu’s stand-up comedy open mic at Gakuya in Shimokitazawa.
• I also had a great time at Taketake-san’s event at “Nanimonai Basho” in Koenji, where we recreated the composition and framing of scenes from movies. It was a really fun event!
• And after that, we’re planning to hold the next Koenji Stand-Up Comedy Open Mic on Thursday, August 27!
• I didn’t perform at TITANS in Otsuka this Thursday. If I’m doing comedy in my hometown of Koenji, I’m probably not going all the way to Otsuka too! 😅 But at DEN, Tomomi-san said that doing comedy in English is really something you just get used to with experience. Apparently, even people who regularly perform comedy in English sometimes come across words they don’t understand. It reminded me that there’s no shortcut—I just have to keep at it, little by little.

・8月12日（水）高円寺DENで行われた英語と日本語が入り混じるスタンドアップコメディ大会に参加してきました。詳しくはInstagramの「greeenjacketcomedy」アカウントを見てもらいたいです。Runakoさん主催の高円寺スタンダップ、来月もあるそうなので引き続き参加していきます。

・次は8月17日（月）、下北沢Gakuyaで行われる清水宏さんのスタンドアップコメディオープンマイクに参加する予定です

・高円寺「なにもない場所」で行われた、映画のワンシーンの構図を再現するというたけたけさんのイベント、面白かったです！

・そして次は8月27日（木）、高円寺スタンドアップコメディ・オープンマイク開催予定です。

・木曜日の大塚TITANは今週は出ませんでした。地元高円寺でやるなら出ないですわね。でもDENでTomomiさんが英語コメディは慣れだと仰ってました。英語でコメディしている方でも分からない言葉はあるらしく、地味にやっていくしかないとあらためて思います。

• I watched the Japanese movie Drive My Car. It stars Hidetoshi Nishijima, with Masaki Okada and Reika Kirishima, and was directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi.
• I also heard that the film All of a Sudden (Kyū ni Guai ga Waruku Naru) won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival, so I’m hoping to go see it sometime soon.
• And while we’re on the subject of movies, I finally properly watched Harry Potter for the first time! So Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is actually the first movie in the series. I’d been to Universal Studios Japan twice and had even been on the Harry Potter ride recently, but somehow I’d never actually sat down and watched the movie until now.
• Moto suggested that we hold an open mic at Nanimonai Basho in Koenji on Tuesday, August 4, so we decided to make it happen. Ironically, Moto himself ended up not being able to make it!
• My next stand-up performance will be on Monday, August 10, at an open mic near TCB in Shibuya.
• After that, I’ll be doing English stand-up at Koenji DEN on Wednesday, August 12. It’s been a while since I last performed comedy in English, so I’m a little nervous!
• Then, on Monday, August 17, I’ll be performing at an open mic hosted by Hiroshi Shimizu at Gakuya in Shimokitazawa.
• And finally, on Thursday, August 27, I’m planning to host my own stand-up comedy event at Nanimonai Basho in Koenji!

・日本映画「ドライブ・マイ・カー」みました。西島秀俊さん主演、岡田将生さん霧島れいかさん出演で濱口竜介監督の作品のようです

・「急に具合が悪くなる」という作品がカンヌ映画祭で最優秀女優賞を獲得したとのことで、近々見に行きたいと思っています

・ちなみに重ねてアレですが、実はこれまでちゃんと見てこなかった「ハリー・ポッター」を初めてちゃんと見ました。「賢者の石」というのが1作目なんですね

。これまでUSJも2回行ったし、先日ライドにも載ったのに、実は映画は最近見たという。原宿・明治通り交差点にあるハリー・ポッターショップに友人の中国人とそのお母さんと一緒に行ってきたのを機に行った感じです

・8月4日の火曜日に高円寺の「なにもない場所」でオープンマイクをやりたいとMotoさんから提案があり、実施が決まったのですが結局Motoさんが来れず、

Ryoさん、たけたけさん、つぐみちゃん、マダム静香さん、アレックス、Hirokiさん、まんぞうさん、高円寺のHiroさんがご登場いただいたようです。ありがとうございます！ 自分が出れなくてごめんなさい

・次のスタンダップは8月10日（月）、渋谷TCB近くで行われるオープンマイクに出演予定です

・次は8月12日（水）に高円寺DENで行われる英語スタンダップです。英語でコメディをするのは久しぶりなのでちょっと緊張します

　→ 毎週木曜日に大塚TITANSで英語コメディがあるので、そちらもそのうち復帰したいと思っています。英語文化に慣れるためにも、今後参加していきたいと思っています
