  • Staying Human | Finding Myself in Strange Times
    2026/07/08

On this episode we're continuing to tap into what makes me feel good.

Over the last few years I've been learning to slow down and listen to myself. My recent grief has added new layers and depth of feeling to the journey. We explore this and much more, including witnessing late-stage capitalism, America's 250th birthday and the coinciding fever dream celebrations, finding joy and inspiration through the Beatles, tension and nervous system regulation and what's on screen lately, with Netflix's the Four Seasons at the top of the charts. It’s a conversation about staying grounded, finding wonder, and holding onto myself in a world that often feels surreal.

Join Jay and I on this lighthearted new episode of Rosanadu for an off the cuff yet intimate conversation surrounding the Beatles and our fresh takes on their discography from start to finish, me being a lifelong fan who isn't as familiar with specifics and Jay being a big brained new fan. We watch the trailer for Hokum, Adam Scott's latest offering, and wonder at how scary a movie can possibly be. We discuss the Conjuring franchise, what makes the Beatles special to us, comparing them with other iconic musical fixtures, our other latest listens, touching on our journey with grief this year, honoring both our silly side and the depth of the moment.

Sit back, relax and get comfy, start your to-do list or chores, stretch out on the highway and turn the volume up, because Jay is onboard this week to talk about all things music and beyond. We discuss our recent journey through Beatlemania, an elite John Lennon sighting after record shopping that day, and Jay lets us in on some Pink Floyd lore, as, true to form, we rib each other and stay silly along the way. We discuss the latest movies that have been getting us through before quizzing each other on trivia about our favorite bands. Grab some popcorn, it's good to have him back on the pod!

We have an honest and raw conversation surrounding grief on this episode of Rosanadu. The Beatles are high among what's carrying me through right now, so we spend some time with the lovable lads from Liverpool, finding where they intersect with memory, grief, and feeling like myself again.

I talk about letting myself be immersed in the music, the lore, and what it means to stay grounded in my own path through everything.

This week on Rosanadu we settle into our happy place and celebrate the rerelease of a special issue of my zine. We get into a fiery conversation about the strange hyper real world of social media, full of micro-propaganda and the fragmenting of our attention. What happens when a handful of companies control the spaces where culture, trends, and ideas live? What does it feel like to step outside of that? Then we talk about the zine and revisiting it in today's outrageous landscape of delirious consumerism.

On this new episode of Rosanadu we zero in on a subject that is quickly becoming near and dear; Queen. Yes, the band. Yes, I’m late to the party!! Enjoy a brief cameo from the mythical Jay, more on our growing love for Pink Floyd, a brief break down of Phil Collin’s best song, a review of the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, touching on what’s been going on lately and sticking to the immersive subject of rock n roll royalty and the legendary musical era of the 70’s and 80’s.
