• 60 | The Promise That's Held Our Marriage for 37 Years
    2026/07/10

This Friday marks thirty-seven years since Bob and I got engaged.

Looking back, I can't help but smile at how little we knew about the story God was writing.

Our engagement was anything but traditional, and if someone had told that twenty-year-old girl what the next thirty-seven years would hold, I'm not sure I would have believed them.

Together, we've walked through seasons of deep joy and unexpected heartache. We've faced moments that tested our faith, challenged our marriage, and reminded us how desperately we needed the Lord.

Yet through every chapter, one promise has remained.

In this special anniversary episode, I'm sharing our story—not because our marriage has been perfect, but because God's faithfulness has never failed.

If you're engaged, newly married, celebrating decades together, or simply wondering how to trust God with the chapter you're living today, I hope this conversation encourages you.

Sometimes the greatest testimony isn't that life was easy...

It's that Christ remained at the center through it all.

    In this episode you'll discover:

    • Why our engagement was so unusual
    • The one thing that has sustained our marriage for 37 years
    • What I'd tell every engaged couple today
    • How God remains faithful through every season of life

If this episode encourages you, would you share it with someone who needs the reminder that God is still writing a beautiful story?

  • 54 | The Verse That Made Me Cry: Remembered by God in a Season of Pruning | Isaiah 49 & Finding Rest
    2026/05/29

Have you ever wondered if God sees your waiting… your hurting… or the things you carry quietly?

In this deeply personal episode of Rooted + Rested, I’m sharing about a hard spring filled with loss in the lavender field, injury, uncertainty, and honest questions before God. What began as a season of pruning unexpectedly became a lesson about being remembered—not forgotten—by God.

After removing around 75 lavender plants, facing difficult decisions, and questioning who God has called me to serve, Isaiah 49:14–16 came to mind:

“I will not forget you… I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands.”

Those verses touched me differently this time.

And what I’m realizing is this:

Recognizing that I am remembered by God has given me the possibility of rest—something I hadn’t been feeling was possible.

In this episode we talk about:

💜 Hard seasons, pruning, and unexpected loss 💜 What lavender fields are teaching me about faith and renewal 💜 Isaiah 49:14–16 and the reminder that God does not forget His people 💜 Why rest may begin with knowing we are remembered by God 💜 Honest reflections for weary Christian women carrying a lot 💜 The question I kept asking all winter: What will my lesson in the lavender be this year?

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, unseen, or exhausted… I hope this episode reminds you:

    You are remembered.

  • 53 | When You’re Carrying the People You Love | Trusting God With Those You Worry About
    2026/05/22

    Sometimes trusting God is hardest…

    not with our own lives…

but with the people we love.

    The child we worry about.

    The spouse carrying something heavy.

The friend in a difficult season.

    The parent struggling.

The person we pray for over and over again.

In this episode of Rooted + Rested, we’re talking about what it means to release control, surrender outcomes, and trust God with those who weigh heavily on our hearts.

    Together we reflect on:

💜 trusting God with the people you love 💜 praying instead of carrying anxiety 💜 releasing fear and outcomes to God 💜 finding peace in uncertain seasons 💜 learning to love deeply without carrying everything

This episode includes Scripture reflections from:

    • 1 Peter 5:7 — “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” • Philippians 4:6 — bringing requests to God through prayer instead of worry

You’ll also hear a gentle lavender reflection on tending faithfully without carrying every outcome — something God has been teaching me through difficult seasons in the lavender field.

    This week’s reminder:

💜 You were never meant to carry everyone. 💜 Place the people you love back into God’s hands.

I also created a free printable with this week’s Scriptures and encouragements.
