  • Sweden Rocks
    2026/10/04

Sweden's bands have no chill. Belting out lyrics with high intensity, guitars that are the right distortion and enough bass to make a church congregation dance. Its just a different sound. While positive, moving forward message or a battlecry. Takida was my first band that i found from sweden. And from there, well here it is on this episode of Rock Phoenix Live. And I have always wanted to go. Best place on earth in my opinion #swedenrocks

I give much credit to them for their music writing and arranging of songs. Some how all the bands that I like ended up being from Sweden and I didnt even know it until I did my own investigation lol!

The hook on these bands is so catchy, I hope you like it.

  • Rockcast Of: Ash To Dust
    2026/08/22

One of the first interviews we did in November of 2021 with the band's founder and front man Robb Matthews. Ash To Dust is a Tucson thrash metal band. Check them out. https://www.ashtodustofficial.com/about

This was during the pandemic, Robb talks about how he had to overcome the current situation around the world to keep the band going. Robb is really knowledgeable about the Tucson music scene. Listening to this is kind of an eye opener for people in phoenix, on what their missing out on as far a local metal music.

  • Hair Bands
    2026/08/08

Who doesn't love hair bands? Its a mix of metal and or rock with pop vocals some what. Heavy drums and screaming guitars. And the fact that it only lasted 10 years is insane. The whole grunge, Nirvana scene aidos them. Every 80's hair bands bio is "came in strong" "lost to grunge". Making this genre one of a kind to make show about. Sorry its longer than normal but I want to fit everything that the eighties hair metal scene has to offer in one show rather than splitting it up. So thank you for your time on this matter lol!!!!

  • Cover Songs
    2026/07/02

Cover songs are great, its the song that your parents listen to but modernized. Its the sound of your parents or grandparents time only now customized to your ears it feels like. Cover songs bring bands close to becoming famous or it leads them to closely dying. On the other hand cover songs are your way to saying "OH Yeah I ve Heard That Song" and getting yourself into a talk about bands you didnt even know about. Record companies would constantly make starting up bands play cover songs. This has been going on for a long time in efforts to make the companies money. It was never about the music to the shareholders. But the people that play music and appreciate it for what it is have always kept it protected.
