Genesis 5: Know where you come from and what your name means

• Knowing where you and your family come from can help you see if you want to keep some things they are known for and what you want to change.
• Knowing your name's meaning can help you see if you are living up to that.
• When you put these meanings together, some interpret the sequence as saying something like, “Man (is) appointed mortal sorrow; the Blessed God shall come down, teaching that His death shall bring the despairing comfort (or rest).” This poetic interpretation is seen by some as a hint of the gospel message hidden within the Old Testament text.

Genesis 6: Are you ready to do the crazy thing

• Things in our lives will eventually come to it’s judgment day.
• You can be one of the doomed or saved side of the judgment.

    • Choose a better, righteous path.
    • I have made risky choices that has caused things to never be right.
  • Move slowly in life:
    • Discern the ripple effects of your actions.
    • Consider the outcomes before following through.
  • Trust in God’s unwavering faithfulness:
    • He remains steadfast, no matter your choices.
