The NBA season is almost here, and we’re not easing into it. We’re going straight to the arguments that every fan ends up having anyway: who are the best three NBA players right now, what “face of the league” really means, and which teams are actually built to survive a playoff series when everything tightens up.

I’m joined by TJ, Mr. Askew aka the “vampire coach,” and Mike Worrell for our annual NBA preview roundtable. We hit the East hard, starting with how far the Knicks can realistically go and why big-man play and defensive edge still decide postseason outcomes. Then we get into the Philadelphia 76ers superteam question, including whether Nick Nurse should be on the hot seat if things don’t click and why chemistry and role acceptance matter more than a starting five that looks perfect on paper.

We also dig into the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kenny Atkinson’s pressure to finally translate regular-season success into playoff wins, and what counts as “progress” versus “embarrassment.” From there, we switch gears into the fun stuff: the best NBA fans debate (MSG, OKC, Toronto, Minnesota and more), whether the NBA should stay committed to Wembanyama as its marquee star, and how Miami’s playoff equation changes with Giannis in the mix.

We finish with MVP picks and full Finals predictions, so you can bookmark the receipts now and brag later. If you like NBA predictions, MVP odds talk, Finals matchup debate, and honest arguments from real hoops fans, hit play, then subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a review with your own Finals pick.

John Rambo doesn’t just survive movies, he survives arguments. We sit down for a loud, honest roundtable on the full Rambo film series and get into the questions action fans actually care about: which movie is the best, which sequel is the weakest, and what moments still hit after all these years. Fiddy is joined by D Frank, Mister Askew and Lando, and we waste no time turning personal nostalgia into hot takes.

We run through the five films from First Blood all the way to Rambo: Last Blood, then dig into why different entries land differently depending on what you want from an action movie franchise: grounded tension, jungle warfare, brutal modern violence, or pure 80s spectacle. The talk gets surprisingly thoughtful when we bring up Rambo III and how its Afghanistan storyline reads now, plus the behind-the-scenes truth that First Blood originally had an ending where Rambo dies.

Then we go full “bar debate” mode: Is Rambo unbeatable. Who wins in a jungle showdown with Predator, the Terminator, and Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion. And where does Stallone’s Rambo rank next to Rocky and The Expendables when you judge them by consistency and rewatch value. We wrap with best villain picks, best action sequences, and our first reactions to a rumored 2027 Rambo prequel that would try to recast an iconic role.

Theme parks bring out the best opinions because everyone remembers their first big coaster, their worst line, and the one food bill that made them pause. We sit down with Wendy, TJ, and Rudy to talk amusement parks the way people actually experience them: what’s worth the money, what’s secretly overrated, and what you should do differently next time you plan a trip.

We start with a quick round of favorites, then jump into a real theme park roll call spanning Cedar Point, Kennywood, Kings Island, Waldameer, Disney parks, and more. Cedar Point becomes the measuring stick, and we get specific about why it can feel underrated when you factor in variety, season passes, meal plans, and the simple joy of popping in for a few rides instead of forcing a full-day marathon. We also get into fast pass strategy and that unmistakable feeling of walking past a long line when you’ve planned ahead.

From there it turns into the stuff you can’t get from a brochure: water park takes, indoor park “gross” factor, a Kalahari story that includes a surprise $56.75 swim-up bar tab, and what it’s like when a slide knocks your confidence sideways. We wrap with practical trip timing, why midweek wins, why night rides feel totally different, how Halloween events change the vibe, and what age kids are actually ready for serious thrill rides.

If you like the show, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a rating or review. What’s the most overrated theme park tip you’ve ever heard?

Fall brings out everyone’s strongest opinions, and we lean all the way into it. We start with the important questions that somehow reveal everything about a person: pens or pencils, and beer from a bottle or a can. Then we get to the real mission, settling the annual debate about where fall belongs in the season rankings and why that first run of crisp mornings, flannels, boots, and 55 degree air feels like a reset for your brain.

From there, we go practical. We talk family-friendly fall activities that actually work with little kids and toddlers: trunk-or-treats, parks, being outside without melting, and those classic Friday night football vibes. We also trade fall travel recommendations and local day trips, including Lake Erie wineries in Ohio, farm spots for apple picking and corn mazes, haunted houses, and a must-see outdoor hike at Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania when the leaves hit peak color.

We wrap it up with the stuff that makes autumn taste and look the way it should: comfort food, hot apple cider, wings for football season, pies, coffee, and the ongoing struggle of leaf raking. We also share decorating rules, including a simple pumpkin “cheat code” that helps you transition from Halloween to November without buying new decor. Finally, we rank five fall foods and drinks and yes, candy corn takes some heat.

Subscribe to Ride Home Rants, share this with your favorite fall person, and leave a review if you laughed. What’s your #1 fall tradition, and what’s your candy corn verdict?

You can learn a lot about higher education by listening to the people who live the college admissions grind every week. I sit down with Madison Federman, an undergraduate admissions counselor at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, to talk about what the job really looks like when “every day is different” isn’t a slogan, it’s the schedule. We get into travel season planning, visiting high schools, working college fairs, running info sessions, and how admissions teams balance recruiting, student support, and nonstop logistics.

Madison also shares what it takes to stay human on the road. We talk hotel life, finding friendly faces in different cities, and the small habits that keep travel from draining you. From there, we go off the beaten path into Cleveland and Lakewood favorites, what it means to be an introvert in a public-facing career, and the underrated joy of quiet downtime with your partner.

Then the personal stories hit: wedding planning pressure, big Italian family traditions around holidays and homemade sauce, and the exact moment Madison became a lifelong Swiftie. We wrap with a clear look at why BW can be such a strong fit, especially for students who want a small-school feel with big-city Cleveland internships and career access.

If you enjoy candid conversations about college admissions, campus culture, and real-life career paths, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more listeners can find the show.

The NFL season is back, and we’re doing what fans actually do best: making bold predictions and daring each other to call them ridiculous. I’m joined by our yearly roundtable Mike, Tony Bogan, Bill Stoy, and legendary coach Hal Mumme for a fast-moving NFL season preview built around real questions: who wins the AFC North, who takes home MVP, and which teams are about to flip the league on its head.

We start in the AFC North where coaching changes and roster volatility make the division feel like a coin toss, then we lock in MVP picks from safe favorites to true long shots. From there, we go all-in on Super Bowl predictions across both conferences, including why the Buffalo Bills keep showing up in our bracket and what it would take for a rising team like the Houston Texans to break through. If you’re searching for NFL predictions, Super Bowl picks, MVP odds talk, and honest fan logic about what wins in January, this is the lane.

Coaching and quarterback decisions drive the back half: Buffalo moving on from Sean McDermott to Joe Brady, the New York Jets and the Aaron Glenn pressure cooker, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers facing the Baker Mayfield long-term contract question. We also size up the Giants vs Lions outlook and finish with under-the-radar teams that could make the playoffs and annoy everyone.

If you like this kind of NFL season preview, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review with your MVP and Super Bowl picks so we can argue about them all year.

MySpace made you pick a top eight and live with the consequences, AIM away messages were basically therapy, and if you missed one turn on your MapQuest printout your whole night was over. We’re throwing it back to the early 2000s with a full nostalgia panel: me, Mike Bono, with Tony, D Frank, and Mister, digging into the decade that flipped the world from analog to digital in real time.

We talk about where we were when the 2000s started, what it felt like to remember pre 9/11 and then adjust to everything after, and how fast tech changed our day-to-day lives. Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter show up mid-decade, but the real heartbeat is MySpace, AOL Instant Messenger, and that early internet feeling of discovery. We also relive the price-per-text era, pagers and Nextel chirps, the indestructible Nokia brick, and how wild it is that the iPhone doesn’t arrive until 2007.

Then we run the whole 2000s pop culture gauntlet: favorite music and artists, the baggy jeans and Timberlands era, classic TV from Sopranos Sundays to The Office, and why 2000s comedy movies felt like the last time the whole theater laughed together. We close with the bigger question: did we trade something real when social life moved onto our phones?

If you’re into 2000s nostalgia, pop culture history, and the analog-to-digital transition, hit play, subscribe, and share this with someone who still remembers Snake and TRL. What’s the one 2000s thing you’d bring back tomorrow?

County fairs are supposed to be simple, so why do they spark such strong opinions? We jump into a fast, funny roundtable on everything that makes a county fair worth the heat, the crowds, and the inevitable hit to your wallet. Joined by Mister (the vampire coach) and TJ, we trade personal fair memories from Ohio and beyond, plus the tiny details that instantly tell you whether a fair is going to feel chill or chaotic.

The conversation goes straight to the real main event: county fair food. We argue the case for fresh lemonade as the perfect fair companion, why giant turkey legs feel like a rite of passage, and why funnel cake still wins on pure comfort. Then we get into candy apples versus caramel apples and the funniest truth about fair snacks: the “healthiest” item on the grounds is usually an apple that’s been turned into a sugar-and-caramel delivery system.

From there, we zoom out to county fair entertainment and what keeps people coming back, from cover bands and local performers to animal shows, 4-H displays, tractor pulls, and demolition derby nights. We also talk strategy: daytime fairs versus evening fairs, how the crowd shifts when teens show up, and why school calendars in fair towns sometimes bend around fair week to keep families involved.

Finally, we say out loud what everyone thinks: fair prices can feel wild. Between parking, tickets, wristbands, and games, it’s easy for families to get priced out, even when they want to support local vendors. If you’ve ever lost money to the ring toss or the spinning ladder game, you’ll feel seen. Subscribe, share the episode with a friend, and leave a review with your go-to fair food and the most rigged game you’ve ever played.
